Freighter 670 ft, Waterford 40 ft |
Then it was on up the river, under the Blue Water Bridge and into Lake Huron at 10:45 am. At thispoint the current is so strong that you could probably walk faster!
And of course we met another freighter coming down as we emerged. With winds now out of the N/NE, we were into 2-3 foot waves for the first hour or so when winds and waves steadily diminished. We were tied up in Port Sanilac by 3 pm. Time for a nice long walk before cocktails on the bridge aboard Day Dreams. Doug and Garry grilled a beautiful marinated chicken breast for dinner aboard Waterford while we caught up on The Voice. We finished up the dishes while Jan did a load of laundry before retiring for the night. We want to get an early start in the morning - heading to Port Austin at the "Tip of the Thumb".
