Now on to the report of the day. No sunshine today -- definitely overcast with the threat of light rain. Garry had some calls to make including ordering a "Rogue Wave" wifi booster prior to departure. We left the dock at 10:30 for a "3 hour tour" to Rogers City. The only site of note along the way was the world's largest white limestone quarry just south of the harbor.

Quite an operation visible a mile from shore.

It was definitely raining as we pulled into our dock assisted by 3 able dockhands. DayDreams was close behind and all was secure by 2 pm. I needed to pick up a prescription and a few groceries, so Jan and I took advantage of the marina "courtesy car" We were chauffered by Vinnie the dockhand to the Rite Aid and Glen's grocery about 2 miles away in the re
tired white Crown Vic police car. Hey, it has wheels and it's dry!

Vinnie helping unload 4 bags of groceries. It's still raining! |
Back at the dock, we finally got a brief respite from the rain and decided to walk up to town. First stop, the Maritime Museum ---- closed! We continued on to the hardware store and got a tip on the 2nd museum in town (Really) --- also closed! We did notice Iron Man III playing at the local movie theater, took in a small art gallery and were heading for the coffee shop when the rain began anew. And Doug didn't have his rain gear! So we took the shortest route back to the dock, with a quick stop at the liquor store along the way to replenish supplies.
Still raining, so Jan and I did a couple of loads of laundry (good chore done on a rainy day). We'll have cocktails, a light supper and take in Iron Man III. The fog is starting to move in on us, but we remain optimistic .... "
The Sun'll Come Out, Tomorrow!"
